Gwydir Castle is an ancient Welsh house situated near Llanrwst in the Conwy valley. It is regarded as one of the finest Tudor houses in Wales.
I decided to go and visit, what a lovely day I had. I was received with a very warm welcome from the current owners who have been restoring this amazing old house for twenty years, and the history of the house is so interesting.
I wandered around the house and gardens at my leisure. The impressive architecture, and the peacocks were so beautiful, especially when the sun shone on their irridescent plumage, I came away with lots of inspiration for art, jewellery and journals.
It's well worth a visit, if you are thinking of going, you can check the opening times etc. on their website.
This is my first painting, and some bracelets I made following my visit.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
